General Information
- Your Belizean wedding is perfectly legal - everywhere in the world. Our civil ceremonies are in the tradition of British Common Law.
- The Government of Belize requires that the bride & groom arrive in Belize three business days prior to the ceremony date. The day of arrival, holidays or week-ends are not included in this period.
- A blood test is not required in Belize.
- A Las Terrazas Resort representative will meet you upon arrival at Belize International Airport to review the wedding documentation process with you, assist you in completing the paperwork and then proceed to the Registry in Belize City to process the application for marriage while you go on to the island of Ambergris Caye and Las Terrazas Resort.
- The above process can be expedited in 24 hours for an additional fee.
- Your marriage license will arrive at the resort prior to the ceremony, with the final certified license mailed to you within 4 weeks of the ceremony.
- Officiates allow you and welcome you to write your own personal wedding vows.
If either of the parties or both have been previously married and have been divorced:
- Final original divorce decree is required. It must be an original document with the court's stamp or seal and original signature. Copies will NOT be accepted.
If either or both parties is a widow or widower
- Copy of death certificate is required
