Enjoy A Destination Beach Wedding

I think the best part of choosing to have a destination wedding is the fact that you are on this amazing, unforgettable vacation with your friends and family. It's having more than one party to celebrate your love! We are so glad that we chose the perfect venue for our week-long celebration with family and friends, ending in a final celebration - our unBelizeable wedding!
Seeing our friends and family arrive on the Las Terrazas private boat was one of my favorite moments. They were served delicious rum punch, cold towels, and a huge hug from the newlyweds-to-be! Our guests were immediately impressed with where we chose to get married.
With poolside bars and a beautiful central pool, Las Terrazas was the perfect resort for our group, who spent most of their day lounging on the beach, chilling in the pool, and sipping on delicious pina coladas and watermelon cocktails.
We created a fun itinerary for our guests to get the most out of Ambergris Caye, but they loved staying at Las Terrazas and enjoying all it has to offer - pool, paddleboards, delicious food and cocktails, bikes, and a beautiful sandy beach.
Wedding day came way too fast. Why can't time ever slow down when you're enjoying the best moments in life? The morning was spent doing yoga on the beautiful pier, led by one of my best friends, Taylor Teichman. A perfect Namaste for wedding day.
Getting ready with my girls over mimosas, rap music, and too many laughs could have lasted forever if it was up to me. I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful, tropical background for "pre-party" photos with my best girls. Fun fact: I wore my mom's wedding dress! I had it altered to my style with a low back and it was beautifully steamed by the staff at Las Terrazas. Also featured, my mom's wedding hat veil dating back to the 80s.
Later, I found out while I was getting ready that Blair was trying to escape on one of the resort's bikes with all his buds!
Just kidding, he was at the end of the aisle waiting for me, looking as handsome as ever in front of our driftwood arch, specifically crafted just for us by the Las Terrazas team. Because we got married stateside, our wedding was ceremonial, and Blair's uncle got to marry us. After a couple of laughs and happy tears, we danced down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs.!
We took our bride and groom photos while our guests enjoyed fresh conch fritters and signature cocktails that we got to selectively pick the day we arrived by doing a tasting with the bartender.
By the way, Las Terrazas is one-of-a-kind when you want to talk about a scenic place to capture your wedding photos. Our photos were even more lovely than we had imagined.
We were so excited to be married and watch our friends enjoy themselves on this beautiful island that we couldn't stop dancing or smiling. We danced into the beautiful garden area (where we chose to have our dinner and reception) to "You Make My Dreams Come True" by Hall & Oates… and this was just the beginning of the wild dance party about to ensue…
I almost cried when I saw the décor exactly how I had imagined it in my mind. I remember planning all the details with Carolyn up until the wedding and wondering how it would all come together (how could she keep track of 1,000 emails and endless details?) Well, it's possible my friends. It was so amazing when I saw my dream Belize wedding happening right before my eyes. It's amazing how the Las Terrazas team can put a vision together that was planned stateside.
Also, I didn't cry over the décor and the perfectly placed napkins and sea glass, I saved the tears for the toasts. Our friends and family had us laughing and crying over their coconut toasts. Yes, I said it. Toasts with coconuts! One of the biggest surprises to our guests that is still talked about - a coconut cocktail toast! Who needs champagne when you can hold up a fresh coconut with rum punch? (Shout out to Leroy for climbing those trees to get us all our coconuts.)
The party just about got started when my dad dropped into a split and Blair changed into his "Shred for the wed" tank (not planned by me). There we were, married and dancing the night away with mojitos and cold Belikins in hand. We ended the night flying in the air to classic Dirty Dancing "Time of My Life" and then cooling off with a jump in the pool and a delicious late-night taco bar.
Happily exhausted and dehydrated, I couldn't have asked for a better wedding. It was perfectly Blair and me. Las Terrazas made everything unique to us and celebrated with us with staff smiles all night. Can we please press rewind and live it all over again?
